- Cosmopolis wins MTV Movie Brawl:
Pattinson fans came out in full force to elect "Cosmopolis" the winner of the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, a weeks-long tournament that pitted several of 2012's biggest releases against one another to determine which film is the must-see cinematic event of the year. After tense battles against titans like "Bel Ami," "The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn: Part 2," "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Hunger Games," it's Pattinson's upcoming indie thriller that took home the grand prize.

It's a surprising result for many onlookers, given that "Cosmopolis" has yet to release a trailer and only has a tentative release date of 2012. But Rob's fans rallied behind their man, opting to support his future in "Cosmopolis" over his past in "Twilight" — a commanding decision from a massive fanbase that demands attention, to say the least.

MTV: David, thanks for talking with us! Have you been filled in on what's happened with "Cosmopolis" over here?
David Cronenberg: You know, I've been following it! I'm shocked! I'm shocked and amazed and really tickled. It proves that movie fans are unpredictable and really interesting and really passionate. It's fantastic. I would have never, ever imagined that this would happen.

MTV: How did the tournament first get on your radar?
Cronenberg: Somebody sent me something and said, "Hey, we seem to be doing OK in this Movie Brawl thing that MTV's got going on." I didn't know about it. At that point, we were struggling with "The Dark Knight," I think. I thought, "Wow, that's pretty impressive!" Because "Cosmopolis," while I think in terms of what it is as cinema is pretty hefty, but in terms of budget and promotion, it's an underdog compared to something like "The Dark Knight" franchise. I really didn't think we would have much of a chance. That really got my attention.

MTV: What's kind of incredible, too, is that right before that battle with Batman, "Cosmopolis" was up against "Twilight." It was Rob versus Rob! In what we saw, it seemed that fans were putting their votes towards Rob's future instead of his past.
Cronenberg: Well, and I think that's one of the things that I meant when I said it was interesting. Because that's not the kind of thing you would predict. But it was really terrific, and in that sense, they're right. As I've said many times, if you're a "Twilight" fan, then you might not be interested in "Cosmopolis" because Rob is not Mr. Cullen. But if you're a Rob fan, then you've got to be interested in "Cosmopolis," because you will see him as you have not seen him before, for sure.

MTV: Clearly, there is a lot of interest in this movie, seeing that it came out ahead over movies like "Dark Knight," "Twilight" and "Hunger Games." There is a lot of attention on Rob, of course. Can you talk about your experience working with Rob, and the kind of actor you found him to be over the course of shooting "Cosmopolis"?
Cronenberg: He's terrific. He deserves the affection that the fans have for him. He's incredibly sweet, he's very funny, he's very bright and he's also very knowledgeable about cinema. Not just movies but the history of cinema. He knows a lot about it. He's just a sweetheart. And he's totally professional. He's always right there. We had a lot of fun shooting [the movie] because, as I say, he has a great sense of humor. We just played a lot. I think that's a really great tone that's set for everybody on the set. The lead actor has a really big influence on the tone of the shoot. If you've got a guy who's very difficult and neurotic or whatever, they can't help but affect everybody's day. But Rob is not like that. He's just a ray of sunshine. In fact, he's in absolutely every scene of the movie, so obviously his temperament would have a huge influence on how the shoot went ... and it was a dream. It was a beautiful shoot.

MTV: I think one of the reasons why some are surprised with how this tournament played out is that most of the films that were competing have trailers. This one doesn't — at least not yet! When can fans expect to see a trailer?
Cronenberg: We feel probably that this won't be released until next fall. It's not exactly a summer movie and it won't be ready for a while. The movie is finished, but something that fans maybe don't know is how long it takes a movie to get released. You want to do a couple of film festivals, the studios in each country have to get their materials ready. The photographs, the trailers, everything ... it takes a lot of time, you know? The other thing is, we kind of want to keep things a little bit of a secret until we unleash it on the world. We're pretty excited about it and we don't really want to let too much out about what it is and how it plays.

MTV: In terms of when this is coming out, you said perhaps fall of this year. So there's no firm release date just yet?
Cronenberg: No, not at all. It's been sold to a lot of countries and distributors around the world, but for example, it does not yet have U.S. distribution. That's fine, because we didn't want to look for it until we had the finished film. But frankly, the Movie Brawl results might well help us get some good U.S. distribution! [He laughs.] I just thought of that, but you know, it's possible! It's interesting to hear that indication of interest before you even release a trailer — that's pretty darn good. But you can't release a trailer until you have a distributor, and a distributor has to really have all the material, so it takes a while.

MTV: Well, something close to 6 million votes were cast in this tournament, and almost 4 million were cast in this final poll alone. The numbers do not lie.
Cronenberg: That's fantastic. That's just great. That's just great.

MTV: In the spirit of this tournament, what's the movie you're most excited to see in 2012? What's the film you can't wait to get your eyes on?
Cronenberg: You know, I'm so focused on what I've been doing that I actually don't know what's around! It's strange. I haven't even caught up with last year's films. I have a movie out now called "A Dangerous Method" with Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen. I've been touring the world promoting that, been to a ton of film festivals, but I haven't had a chance to see any of the movies, because I'm constantly having to do interviews and stuff for that. Now, that's calmed down now that the movie has finally been released in the U.S., but the result is that I'm way behind on everything.

MTV: So you've got to catch up on 2011 before moving onto 2012.
Cronenberg: That's right! Let me catch up first, and then I'll start thinking about 2012.

MTV: Finally, any last messages to the "Cosmopolis" fans who pushed this movie to the top?
Cronenberg: They won't be disappointed in Rob. He is fantastic.

So I got to work today on a set where the Thor dude, Chris Helms (can't remember his last name), Kristen Stewart from the Twilight Series, and Charlize Theron were shooting an MTV promo for Snow White and the Huntsman Thanks to my nephew Bryan Campos for the hookup. Kirsten is short, cute, tiny. Good skin. Thor is a tall, in shape (lean) blond dude. CHARLIZE THERON...is just straight REPRESENTING IN EVERY WAY...she deserves ALL THE BIG BUCKS. Sweet, gorgeous, funny, TALL...CUTE TOES...She's just on another level.
Kristen is super cute though...not in the Betty Boop kind of way...in the short girl, long hair, leather brown shorts with heels, gothic type of way...alabaster skin...tresses of auburn locks.

The first scene shows us a spectacular fight in a forest bewteen two armies: King Magnus's army vs the evil queen's. In the impact against the king's knights, the dark soldiers are literally pulverized as if they were puppets. The scene is visually very effective, and it definetely drops us a hint at how much care they've put into special effects.
In the following sequence, we finally meet Snow White's stepmother Queen Raveena, played by a sensual and dark-charming Charlize Theron, who leaves us no doubt on who is really going to be the leading lady...also because she's the one who admits to completely putting herself in this role. << This movie takes me back to my childhood. I go on set and say 'this is my house , this is my mirror' and I feel like being 12 again. It's an ambitious project, but also very funny >>. In the scene we're watching, the queen is in king Magnus's luxurious bedroom, and after seducing him, she hands him a poisoned wine goblet before heart-stabbing him.
The mix of seduction and violence lets us guess that the movie won't be suitable for children, even if script and direction don't go to far, avoiding nudity and blood. But the emotional charge stays high...
Now it's time to meet her, Snow White. Let's get to know Kristen Stewart and see if, after years of Twilight, she'll finally be able to make us forget Bella Swan and surprise us with a convincing performance. We know we'll see her in different clothes from Disney's fairytales, in fact the princess in front of us dresses in practical and male clothes: leather trousers and boots replace long skirts and little shoes. She's lying on a bed in the corner of a cell; she looks exhausted as she tries to suppress anger and fear developed over the years of captivity. A blond guy (Raveena's brother) steps into the room with everything but noble intentions. Pretending to be harmless, the girl manages to escape and to lock him up in the cell. She does not win our heart like the evil Queen, but we already like this warrior Snow White, also because Kristen's enthusiasm is contagious. << It's a big-heart project, people who don't look at the outward appearance will like it. It's a simple story, but it strikes hard >>.
But now comes the highlight moment, the one that really makes us open our eyes. Raveena is in the hall of her palace (where we are now), standing in front of something we don't identify at first, but which becomes clear as soon as she pronounces 'mirror mirror on the wall who's the fairiest of them all?'. It's no longer the oval-shaped mirror with a bronze and engraved frame, but a shiny concave gold 'plate' which melts in front of our eyes, turning into this statuesque 'lord of the mirror'. A little digital marvel. Our viewing figure has now rocketed upwards.
The male main character, who's not prince charming as you can guss from the title, is still missing. It's another peculiar choice, which really intrigues us. But we're optimistic this time around, since it's Chris-talking six pack abs-Hemsworth. If you've seen Thor, you know who he is, even if Snow White herself tells us: << I cried filming a scene. I had to punch Chris but I put too much strength and he fell to the ground. I didn't expect that and I got so scared that I started crying>>. Sorry figures apart, will this huntsman be just a caveman or will he be able to give depth to the character? Looking at his first appearance (the scene of the trailer where he's dragged in front of the queen who asks him to bring her Snow White's heart), we're pretty positive he will be good.
The last scene takes place in the forest and introduces us to other important characters, the 8 drawrfs. Yes, you got it right. There will be 8 drwarfs. We still don't understand the reason of this modification, but it seems that the group will lose a member at the end. We find them sitting around a fire with Snow White and the huntsman, between whom it looks like there isn't yet the chemistry we expect. From his conversation with a dwarf we understand that the man is considering the idea of involving the girl in a so different mission: creating an army to attack Raveena.
What follows, among dancing, singing and jokes, presents another aspect of the movie: the comic and cheeerful vein brought by the dwarfs themselves with their cutting irony.

We won't be surprised one bit if we see Robert Pattinson at this year's Academy Awards.
Yes, he's presented at the Oscars already, but... His new flick, Bel Ami, is set for release just a few days after Hollywood's biggest night of the year. A rep for the Twilight star didn't comment on his possible plans to attend.
Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart is also said to be at the top of the presenter wish list. While Snow White and the Huntsman doesn't hit theaters until June, she'd ideally be paired with her hunky fairy-tale costar Chris Hemsworth.
Mr. Hemsworth actually has two flicks, The Avengers and The Cabin in the Woods, coming out before Snow White, so what better way to promote them all in one big shot than at the Oscars?

Theme that opens the movie is a snippet of Renesmee's Lullaby, and they also use a bit of it on the beach when Jacob talks about imprinting.
They shot the scene from the book of Bella and Edward acknowledging that they've figured out a way to have sex without destroying the house or injuring Bella and Bella tossing around the idea of staying human a little longer. Bill really liked it but felt it didn't go anywhere dramatically. I swear we better get deleted scenes down the road. Still can't believe there are none on this dvd. Ridic.
Bill can see Kristen as a director, Rob as a writer & Taylor as a producer and studio head.

They also originally shot Peter and Ashley on the phone with Bella but decided they didn't want to make the cut away from Bella to show them.

It was apparently almost impossible to get a visa for the Brazilian actress playing Kaure so she could go to Baton Rouge to finish her scenes, and it took "someone calling someone who knew someone in the Obama White House and really getting some strings pulled"
Bill talking about Kristen cooking for him in Baton Rouge ("a great cook...an amazing cook") Kris is a great cook she had me over for dinner in BR&I showed her&rob 1st cut of movie, he then says he showed footage to Taylor on another occasion.
They cut the Jacob throwing the dog bowl at Rosalie scene because it didn't feel right to have comic relief at that moment.

re: Edward hearing the baby scene and Rob/babies "You look at Rob here, you get a little hint of what you'll see a lot of in the 2nd film. He is unbelievably tender with babies...with children...not just babies...he was with Mackenzie too. There's something that changes about him when he's with children. He's just so sweet and caring and I think you really get a little glimpse of that here."

Shooting the birth scene is one of the most memorable nights Bill has ever had on a movie set.

In Spring 2012 there will be screening of the dramatic picture Bel Ami based on the novel of Guy de Mopassant. This novel is referred to the French literature classics. It was filmed many times, one of which was porno. Although everyone knows this story already, this premiere is being waited with impatience because the main character is played by handsome twilight's Robert Pattinson.

The creators of the film Bel Ami decided not to rewrite clasics and made quite precise adaptation. The main character Georges Duroy - the ex military - vegetates in poverty in midst of luxury Paris. But one day he meets his old fellow Sharles Forrestier who became a journalist. And the new life starts. George can do almost nothing, but he is very attractive and his mind is resourceful. On having new appointments he understands: there is the invisible power in the high society that can help to grow up.This power are wives of rich and powerful men.

In the beginning he has love affair with his friend's wife.Then with the lady from high society Clotilda de Morels. Then with her daughter. And it's her who calls him "bel ami". George's life became the line of mistresses, lie, machinations and calculated marriages.

The director of Bel Ami is englishman Declan Donnellan. Russia knows him thanks to his numerous performances in Moscow artistic academic theatre (MHAT) and in Pushkin's theatre and even in Bolshoy theatre. Declan managed to combine outstanding cast for this film. "Bel ami" Georges Duroy is Robert Pattinson, who is free finally from his vampire saga. He has in movie love affairs with wonderful actresses Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas and so on. Everything was filmed in London and Budapest. But the action is meant to be in Paris.

As Robert Pattinson said by himself, he played amoral Georges with great pleasure because he used to learn French and the novel Bel Ami is one of his favourite books.

At what point in the filming process will you come onboard? Is the film usually finished by the time you see it and set the score?
Carter Burwell: Generally, I don’t actually write anything until a film has actually been shot. But, there are some exceptions.
In the movie I’m working on right now, which is “Breaking Dawn: Part II,” they needed Rob Pattinson and the actress who plays his daughter to play piano onscreen. I had to write this duet before they shot the film so they could actually learn the parts. Rob is a musician, so he prides himself on working out the fingering for these correctly.

- SWATH cast will do Moviefone Unscripted on January 26(LINK)

Twi-hards and superhero geeks unite! On Thursday, Jan. 26 in Los Angeles, Kristen Stewart (Snow White), Charlize Theron (the evil Queen Ravenna) and Chris Hemsworth (the Huntsman) will participate in a brand-new edition of Moviefone's Unscripted for "Snow White and the Huntsman" -- meaning you can ask them anything about the highly anticipated fairytale flick.

"Snow White" fans will have until Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST to ask a question. You can leave queries in the comments below, on our Facebook Page or on Twitter. Check back to Moviefone closer to the "Snow White" release date in June to see the completed video.

Starring Stewart, Theron, Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Ian McShane, Ray Winstone, Nick Frost, Bob Hoskins and Eddie Izzard, "Snow White and the Huntsman" hits theaters on June 1.

Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron may play rivals in Snow White and the Huntsman, but it's so not like that in real life.

The two didn't first meet until after they both signed on to the movie...

"We met on a plane going to Comic-Con," Theron told me at the BAFTA Los Angeles tea party at the Four Seasons Hotel. "You know when you meet someone and it's effortless? It was instantly amazing. We couldn't shut up," she continued. "The plane landed and they were like, 'Get off the plane' and we were going on and on."

It was the same on set. "I think we both love what we do and we came to play," Theron said.

Yeah, but what happened when it came to their fight scenes? We imagine the "total bitch" Evil Queen got to kick Stewart's Snow White's butt.

Or maybe not. Theron teased, "It's more like what Kristen does to me."

Ranking second behind Grint and Watson is reported real-life couple Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the stars of the Twilight franchise. All of the Twilight films to date have hit theaters in the last five years, earning $2.5 billion at the global box office. While the Harry Potter series is mostly about Potter’s journey, the Twilight franchise is centered on Stewart and Pattinson’s characters, the human Bella and the vampire Edward. In the most recent movie they got married, with disastrous results. They’ll have a chance to boost their earnings even more when the second part of the last book, Breaking Dawn, is released this coming November.

It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”

She wore Balenciaga at the Twilight Premiere in 2008 and a New Moon event in Madrid in 2009.

“It was our last day on Friday, and she has kind of a big rabble rousing speech, and she’s great. She’s fun on set. She’s a fantastic actress,” said Frost while promoting “The Adventures of Tintin.”

Frost feels that people can discount Stewart unfairly because of her previous work, but there are a few things they don’t keep in mind. “I think people forget she’s fairly young still, but she’s dedicated and she wants to do a good job,” he said. “Often, I don’t think people take that into consideration. She’s doing ‘Twilight’ and stuff like that, but she’s dedicated.”

It’s the combination of Stewart’s age and the amount of work that “SWATH” demanded that really left an impression on Frost. “How old is she? Twenty-three, twenty-four?” Frost asked. “I don’t know that many twenty-three or twenty-four year-olds that get picked up at 4 am and work until 10 at night, six days a week. She comes on set smiling and laughing, and she knows her lines.”

"This is not a girl by the well with tweety birds" says Director Rupert Sanders. "I actually wanted to do a war movie" It's clear that Sanders take on the Snow White storey will be as grim as it is Grimm. While competing 2012 Snow White project, Tarsem Singh's Mirror Mirror goes for fairy tale bright colours and high camp scheming, this one shows its Snow (Kristen Stewart) in armour, and promises less sweeping and dusting and more sweep and dust-ups.
Charlize Theron is the Evil Queen who consumes young women to keep herself young and beautiful; Stewart's Snow White is the big prize who will keep her that way forever; Chris "Thor" Hemsworth plays the fearless Huntsman ordered to hunt Snow through the big, scary forest; and On Stranger Tides Sam Claflin is the Prince (How charming he is remains to be seen).
The eight dwarves (yes, eight. Disney holds the copyright on seven) are played by some of the best British character actors around, from Nick Frost and Ian McShane to Ray Winstone and Bob Hoskins.
You wouldn't know it to look at him - or the budget - but Sanders is a first-time feature director. He is, however, one of the highest-profile commercial men around and a look at his Halo, Call of Duty: Black Ops or Nike spots suggest that the action won't even make him break a sweat.
Stewart, Speaking in LA recently, sounds as fired up as her director. "It's a true telling of the fairy tale, a little bit closer to the Grimm stories than other versions." That puts it in direct contrast to Mirror Mirror's more child-friendly approach; where this one goes for the look of Gladiator or Robin Hood, that Julia Roberts/Lily Collins effort chooses a more farcical, knockabout tone in a clearly artificial world.
Which one could debate which of the pair is more faithful to the original, there shouldn't be much danger of confusing the two - as Stewart acknowledges "The great thing about having such a brass-tacks base is you can rethink who your characters are within the fairy tale and still remain completely true to it because they are fairly undefined. You have really basic attributes and in this case we are bringing it out, I think, un-expected things"
"A lot is expected of me on this" Adds, Stewart, who's been training intensively. "being strong will not be just an aesthetic thing. I need to have endurance. "Snow is someone who has a lineage of leadership in her blood, and she has been beaten down, along w/ her entire kingdom and her people. I know it sounds really obvious, but it's a story that should champion people who aren't obsessed with vanity, someone who has a true heart. It's a really simple story but it really knocks me out"

Your casting of Robert Pattinson in 'Cosmopolis,' someone whose acting might not be as critically lauded as Mortensen's, was obviously a well-thought-out decision, then.
Well, Keira's acting doesn't always get praise from high-brow critics, either. I would use that parallel. You have a young actor who's found success with a franchise just like Keira did with 'Pirates of the Caribbean,' who's underrated because of that. In each case, they're too pretty and too successful so people are jealous. As a result, people assume that they can't possibly be good actors.

So what was the exact motivation for casting Pattinson in 'Cosmopolis'?
He's the right age, he's got the right screen presence, and when I looked at his other work I thought he'd be really interesting for the role. Casting is a black art – it's a bit mysterious how you come to these things – and it's subjective, too, of course. As a director, there are no rules to guide you. You have to go with your gut, ultimately.

- David Cronenberg gives an update on Cosmopolis

"Probably the last couple of days was where there was just a long, long, maybe 15-minute scene with Paul Giamatti, just the two of them in a couple of rooms," Cronenberg said. In "Cosmopolis," Pattinson plays Eric Packer, a young millionaire who just wants to get his hair cut. Things go awry when his limo gets stuck in traffic and a stalker, played by Giamatti, causes even more trouble.

Cronenberg said that one of the biggest testaments to Pattinson's skill as an actor was the effect he had on his Academy Award-nominated co-star. "They were both brilliant, and Paul was really impressed," he said. "If Paul's impressed, he's a good judge of other actors, and he said so publicly."

The director is simultaneously promoting "A Dangerous Method" and putting the finishing touches on "Cosmopolis." Cronenberg said that juggling both has never been an issue: "I've edited 'Cosmopolis,' and I'm about to go to Paris next week to do the sound mix of it, but I can switch over. It's like having two kids. When one kid comes through the door, you're there for that kid."

R.K.: Your next film is “Cosmopolis,” which is adapted from a Don DeLillo novel. What can you tell me about it?
D.C.: It's the story of a young billionaire played by Rob Pattinson who travels across Manhattan to get a haircut. That's the plot. Robert's a very underestimated actor. I think he'll blow some people away.

JT: In addition to budgetary reasons, do you prefer shooting in one or two takes for creative reasons as well?
DC: I did the same with A Dangerous Method and the same with my latest movie Cosmopolis. One or two takes…if you’re working properly with your actor and your actor is properly prepared, you don’t need more than that. The idea of doing ninety-nine takes like David Fincher is supposed to have done…it’s a completely different way of filmmaking.

JT: Cosmopolis is slated for next year, which is a return to screenwriting for you and features a stellar cast. What can you tell us about it, in particular Robert Pattinson, who seems a unique choice for a Cronenberg leading man?
DC: I think he’s kind of parallel to [Knightley] really. I think he’s a very underrated actor who’s really good.
And so he proved to be. I think he’s fantastic in the movie… He’s really great. You can ask Paul Giamatti who’s said that publicly, because he does a big scene with him. Cosmopolis is based on a novel by Don DeLillo. It couldn’t be more different from A Dangerous Method, except that it to has a lot of dialogue. But it’s a very different kind of dialogue. You’ll have to wait and see.

Working with Robert Pattinson in Cosmopolis, is it that same process of really focusing on your actor and giving him a lot of freedom?
He's in every scene. It's quite a different structure from A Dangerous Method. I think the only similarity really is that there's a lot of dialogue, but it's a very different kind of dialogue, a completely different kind of movie. I did shoot it even more ascetically. We finished 5 days early, and I did my director's cut in two days. That's a record for me. And yet it seems to work really well. Basically you're not giving your editors much to work with. At moments he was begging me to do coverage and I wouldn't. I said I don't need that closeup, I don't want that. I'm confident that letting it hang in the long shot is the way to do it. There are classic mistakes that young directors make, they get so enamored of this tricky dolly shot or steadicam shot, then they don't want to do closeups because they think they've done this genius shot, then in the editing room they realize all the emotion, they can't see it. you have to do closeups. But that's a lesson you learn very early on in your career as a director. You have to have unshakeable confidence if you're not going to do that coverage. You have to know this is exactly what I want it to be.

Viggo Mortensen, Magneto, and a movie with Rob Pattinson next, with all that Twilight hoopla around him. You don’t mind stars with franchise baggage it seems.
It’s like with Viggo with The Lord of the Rings, frankly. We’ve talked about this a lot. He wouldn’t have been a candidate for A History of Violence if it hadn’t been for Lord of the Rings because he wasn’t well-known, he was really kind of a B actor, character actor before Lord of the Rings made him a star. Therefore, he would not be somebody who could get you the financing that you need. It’s something about casting that people don’t think about but as a director, you really have to think about it because your producers make you think about it and so do your distributors. You say, “I want this guy,” and they say “Forget it! Nobody knows who he is and we can’t build a campaign around him to release to movie.” So not only do you have to get the right guy, you have to figure out who that guy is creatively but he has to want to do it to, you have to be able to afford him, he has to be available at the time you want him and he has to have the star power to get your movie financed. It’s very tricky casting a movie and for a director it’s a huge part of what you do, to weave your way through this mine field and end up with the right guy in your movie. Because if you make a huge miscasting mistake, it can kill your movie before you’ve even shot a foot of film.

Have you ever made any huge casting mistakes?
Yes, but I won’t talk about them! [laughs] But not enough to kill the movie, I must say. There are only one or two that I would maybe have rethought. But you get lucky sometimes and sometimes the right person not only says yes and sometimes the right person says no. In other words, for some reason you’ve decided to go with somebody and you later realize, “Thank god that guy didn’t do the movie because this guy is the right guy.” But about Rob Pattinson, yeah, of course, if it weren’t for Twilight I don’t think we could have financed the movie around him because he wouldn’t be known. But aside from that, that was a good thing not a bad thing and of course I have to think about all that.

Especially with a movie that’s so focused on one character.
Absolutely. You make a bad choice and you’ve killed your movie right away or at least you’re staggering through it trying desperately to compensate for what’s not there that should have been there. I felt really lucky to have Rob, he’s fantastic, and I think people will see that it’s obvious. I don’t think it’s going to be a surprise.

On last night’s Breaking Dawn black carpet, we made it our personal mission to find out more, and producer Wyck Godfrey spilled the beans. He told us that he is currently working “on a couple things” with Rob at the moment. “He has great creative instincts,” said Wyck. Awww! When we asked if they were developing one of Rob’s screenplays together, he replied, “It’s a book that he’s interested in.”

Aha! Rob told Vanity Fair that there was a Lillian Hellman story he was playing around with adapting. Could this be it? “I’m not telling you!” Wyck laughed as he dashed away. Hmmm, that sounds like a bit of a giveaway to us! We then asked Rob about his writing. “Yeah,” he said, “I’m doing a bit of that. I’m doing a bit of everything.”

Amid their promotional media blitz, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday, Nov. 18 to discuss their steamy honeymoon scene yet again.

“There was a bit too much butt crack I think. That was one thing I know they cut out,” Pattinson said of the film edits. “They didn’t cut the shot or whatever, they just cut the crack out.”

Stewart previously revealed that the scene, in which newlyweds Bella and Edward consummate their marriage, initially earned Breaking Dawn – Part 1 an R rating.

“How do you cut the crack out?” DeGeneres pressed.

“They just painted over it,” Pattinson said. “You’re allowed to show cheek. You can’t show crack.”
Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser also appear on the episode, where they will – most likely – discuss even more need-to-know information.

The cast also joins DeGeneres in filming a special scene for Part 2 of the Saga’s finale

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, along with other Breaking Dawn stars, taped “Ellen” on Monday for an episode that will air on Friday when the film hits theaters.

A lot of fun stuff happened, and Gossip Cop has all the exclusive details.

An audience member tells Gossip Cop the following:

*DeGeneres did a scene with the cast that she wrote in which she plays Edward’s first love, “Linda,” and Pattinson played along.

*Stewart threw grapes across the studio, and Lautner caught every one of them in his mouth.

*DeGeneres made Lautner dance with her as soon as he came onstage.

*DeGeneres gave the entire cast T-shirts that read “Team Ellen,” featuring a photo of herself as a vampire.

*Bruno Mars ended the show singing “It Will Rain” from the film’s soundtrack.

(On her parents working in the industry) "Both my parents work in film and television, they used to bring me with them at work, where I saw people of every age acting, even children: I immediately understood that I wanted to do it too."

(On why she likes to joke on set) "There's a lot of free time, I have to enjoy myself somehow!"

(On where she'd like to land if Captain Kirk could take her back in time) "Around 1948, 1950, so I could listen the beat generation's bebop, blues and jazz."

(On her Snow White) "Yes, but it's a very original Snow White, a warrior who even wears an armour!"

(On the beach scene she shot for SWATH) "Oh yes, that's the scene that sees me finally free after my escape from the Evil Queen. I love that dress, it's gorgeous! Wearing it helped me to get into character. The weight of the wet fabric, for example, helped me to understand the troubles Snow White has to face to escape from her destiny. The hair is also fundamental for this role. These are extensions, my hair is shorter, it reaches my shoulders, more or less. The color isn't mine either. Since I've been acting, I've never had my natural haircolor, which is light brown. But it's okay, it's fun to see yourself differently when you look in the mirror."

(On what kind of clothes she wear) "I'd love to wear very feminine clothes, but then, in the everyday life, when I'm in Los Angeles, at home, I'd rather be comfortable. Whereas, when I'm away, like in this case, I pack all kinds of clothes, for the evening as well, because I think that maybe I'll get a chance to wear them."

(On how long it takes her to pack) "I'm really organised. I just have to open my wardrobe and choose. But you see, even if I bring lots of clothes with me, it always ends up like this: tank top, jeans and sneakers."

(On doing exercise and staying fit) "I'm naturally skinny. We're all like this in my family, so I don't have to exercise a lot or go on a diet. I do all the exercise I need on set. Right now, for example, to play Snow White I never stop: I run, jump, fight with swords, horseride... I do all kinds of stuff! You see, I've even injured myself! But it's nothing serious."

(On her energy on set) "It's true, I don't lack the enthusiasm. If there's something to do, I say: 'Come on, what are we waiting for? Let's do it!' Because I'm eager to start. This way of doing things helps me to always keep a high energy. I like going for new projects."

(On her upcoming projects) "Right now, there's nothing certain. I'll take the chance to go back home, to my family, and enjoy some free time. This, right now, it's my ideal holiday. I travelled around the world for my job, often whitout even realising where I was. I like travelling, but right now, I need to recharge my batteries."

(On what kind of actress she is) "I'm not one of those actresses that maniacally prepare themselves for a role. On set, I do whatever I need to do, but day after the day. If I have to improvise, I improvise, if I have to learn my lines by heart, I do it. There are certain screenplays which are so beautiful, that they only need to be repeated as they are, without any changes. I live in the moment."

(On why she loves her job) "Why worrying before a job? I love my job and I want to fully enjoy it. I love it, I'll never stop saying that. Seen from the outside it may seem like a fairytale, and maybe it is; but there's a lot of commitment behind it and even a few sacrifices. I, for example, love to sleep, but every morning I have to get up really early to go on set. I win over my laziness, I get up and I happily go to work. The important thing is to keep in mind that acting is like any other job. A job that gives you the chance to keep reinventing yourself, living new emotions and expressing yourself, but that doesn't really make you different or special. Anyway, I know I'm lucky, because what happens when you're acting, it's extraordinary. Sometimes you're so deeply taken by your character or the story, that you almost risk to lose yourself. It happened to me when I shot "Speak". I played an introverted girl that decides not to speak to anyone, ever again. Her silence it's how she defends herself from other people: her schoolmates, her teachers, her family even herself. At the end, it was hard to leave that comfortable silence I had created for myself. With silence you get peace and even your thoughts are more organised, it's extraordinary and really hard to explain. I lived an interesting experience with "On the Road" as well, where I play Marylou: I explored the freedom of actually living "on the road", mentally and physically. That's what I'm talking about, it's the magic of acting."

(On what kind of wish she'd make, given the opportunity) "Oh God, don't ask me about wishes! When I'm in front of a birthday cake, with all the lit candles, and everyone reminds me to make a wish, I just blackout. I think: what do I wish for?, and nothing ever comes to my mind. Then I close my eyes, take a deep breath and the wish comes out. I don't really know how to explain what happens inside of me, but that's what happens: breathing is the key to understand what I really care about."

(On whether she has any wish for her job) "I have everything I could wish for. I receive lots of job offers, job offers that are often interesting. Really, I don't know what I could wish for... I don't even have a particular role I'd like to play or a director I'd like to work with. I just let things happen."

Synopsis
